Full Speed Ahead: Latest on Xinhua Hospital's Fengxian Branch and Its Surrounding Construction Time：2025-04-17
The Fengxian Branch of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, a major livelihood project under Shanghai's "Five New Cities" initiative, was approved on April 26, 2021 and broke ground on October 15, 2021. Through over three years of intense construction, the branch wrapped up its main works in late 2024. It is now in the home stretch of getting ready to open its doors, with trial operations set to kick off in late June 2025.

The Fengxian Branch of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is strategically positioned in Nanqiao Town with Li'nan Road (planned) to its east, Fengpu Avenue to the south, Xiaonan Road to the west, and Chengpu Road to the north. The project involves a new medical complex and ancillary facilities, with a capacity of 1,200 beds (with 600 available in Phase I) and a total floor area of 133,495 square meters, of which 93,165 square meters are ground facilities.
Upon completion, the project will bridge the gap in comprehensive top-tier tertiary medical services in Fengxian District. It will not only deliver premium healthcare resources to local and neighboring communities but also significantly elevate the medical service caliber in Fengxian and southern Shanghai, contributing uniquely to the vision of an Asian medical center city.
